Review: I enjoyed your restaurant 21 September 2019 at around 6:00 p.m. The food was quick and tasty. My only concern happened at the end, when I left a $4 tip on a $14.03 bill, which is a a 28.5% gratuity, and when I went to pay at the end, I used a credit card (transaction 000126). There was a screen that came up giving me a choice of gratuity by percentage, but I did not see a cash option. I was concerned because the host/clerk seemed a bit annoyed that I chose "No Tip," or maybe I misinterpreted her businesslike demeanor. My choosing "No TIp" made it seem like I did not approve of the service I received. On the contrary, the bartender/server brought my food and asked several times if I needed anything else. He seemed kind and attentive. I enjoyed your restaurant, the food and the service, but the shaming during the checkout process not as much. Perhaps you could add a "Cash" option or an "Already tipped" box people could check.

I've been wanting to try this nearby restaurant for some time, and dinner with a friend on Labor Day proved to be the evening to give it a shot. What a huge disappointment. I'm giving two stars vs one because the salsa and chips were fresh and delicious, and the margarita was also good. Everything else was a disaster.
Arrived, and had to wait nearly 10 minutes for a hostess to come to the stand and I was first in line and at least 6 arriving parties waiting behind me to be seated. In fact I had to ask a passing server if there was a host or hostess. One showed up from somewhere about three minutes later.
Service was terrible. Took forever to put in our order. Once was delivered - never saw our sever. Had to ask passing staff three times for salsa, and it was only when I got out of my seat and walked to the front of the kitchen to mention that have asked for service three times.
Asked when ordered if the Seafood enchiladas contained real crab, or imitation. Was told insistently that it was "real crab." It wasn't - it was manufactured, imitation "Krab." And the chicken tortilla soup was mostly chicken and tortillas, with next to no broth. Plus, couldn't find our server to pay our bill - we were never asked if we wanted additional drinks.
Nice setting and easy parking - personnel disaster. As a longtime Fishers resident, this is so disappointing. -

I've been here before and loved it, but this last visit was lacking. The food was okay, not as good as I remembered though. And the service was just flat out bad. Our waiter only came over once to ask if we wanted to go boxes.
I'm hoping this was just an off day for them. -

Update!
The salsa is still fantastic.
However I feel like the overall quality of the food is declining with each visit. I usually get the Quesadilla Mazatlan or fajitas and the green peppers are always half cooked.
Also, the last two times we have come the service had been bad. Just overall inattentive and we had to ask for a waiter today after sitting for awhile. The restaurant was maybe 1/4th full. Don't ask for anything extra as you will be charged for any little thing.
I miss the 116th street location. -

Have not been to Riviera for several years and decided to stop in for dinner last night. It is pretty much what I expected, mediocre food at a reasonable price.
We sat in the bar which has a few tvs and is a comfortable place to have a drink. The service was ok, but they never refilled our chips or water.
We liked the salsa and chips better than the chicken burrito. The chicken tastes like it was boiled with no seasoning. This left the burrito a little bland.
We had a few of their beer specials which rang up at the regular price. When i asked the bartender he said you have to check out at the front counter and tell them you had the special. The girl at the register confirmed that is how they manage the beer special which seemed odd. I wonder how many people don't realize the price was wrong or forget to ask when they get to the register.
I like the atmosphere here, but Red Habanero down the street has better food.
